What are your hobbies outside of diving?
I just bought a house in Columbus, so I have been spending a lot of time fixing it up. Besides that I enjoy working on computers, playing with my dog and catching up with friends. And I have about 400 DVD’s I love to watch.
What do you do between dives at competition?
I try to get away from everything and not watch the meet. I try to find a spot on deck where I won’t be tempted to watch every dive. There is usually an iPod and cards involved to pass the time. When I am doing synchro, the meets run faster so I just try to stay warm, relaxed and not let myself got too serious – Troy is good at keeping things loose.

London
What is your most embarrassing “diving moment?”
At the 2004 Senior nationals, I got lost in a 107b on 3m and landed flat on my face. I gave myself a concussion and had no idea what was happening for a couple hours.
What is the best advice you have received from a diving
coach?
I have heard countless times from Vince Panzano that your diving career isn’t defined by how many titles you win or where you finish in your meets. Your career is defined by how you come into practice each day and represent yourself on a daily basis. It is about knowing you gave it your all and enjoyed it every step of the way.
What advice can you offer young divers as they progress through this sport?
Don’t ever take the sport too serious. You are doing this because you enjoy it and you should try to take in all it has to offer. Remember, this is supposed to be fun.
