Olympic Medal Program
List of 2007-2008 Olympic Medal Program Divers
The Olympic Medal Program (OMP) is designed to identify divers and their coaches who possess Olympic medal potential and provide them with resources and opportunities to develop their talent at a faster pace.
Participants in the OMP will be evaluated annually, typically in August after the U.S. National Championships. A maximum of 20 divers will be identified to participate in the program.
From that talent pool, divers are offered the choice of becoming a resident of the National Training Center (NTC) in Indianapolis or participating in the non-resident program, in which divers and coaches remain at their home training facility but participate in various camps and programs throughout the year.
Divers in both sections of the OMP participate in two Performance Enhancement camps each year. These camps provide feedback from sport science and sport medicine areas, including bio-mechanics, medical evaluation, physical therapy, sport psychology, nutrition and exercise physiology.
OMP divers also participate in selection camps where they have the opportunity to demonstrate their performance capabilities in order to be evaluated and considered for selection to international teams.
