Speedo Junior National Championships: Cramer, Hinrichs win 13-under platform titles
 
MISSION VIEJO, Calif. –Andrew Cramer (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Lillian Hinrichs (Lincoln, Neb.) closed out the Speedo Junior National Diving Championships with victories in the 13-under platform contests on Saturday.

Cramer won the boys title with 364.70, finishing ahead of Andrew Whittington (The Woodlands, Texas), won scored 327.60 points for silver. Steele Johnson (Carmel, Ind.), the gold medalist on 3-meter, added a bronze with 305.65 points on platform. Timothy Faerber (Potomac, Md.) scored 298.40 points for fourth, and Joseph Dowd (Orlando, Fla.) took fifth at 286.50.

“I’ve been diving for nine years. Last year I got fourth, so it’s really great that I could win it in my last year in 13 and under,” Cramer said.

Hinrichs scored 306.75 points to win the girls gold over Annika Lenz (Altadena, Calif.), who took second at 299.45. Olivia Rosendahl (Los Angeles, Calif.) won bronze with 288.35 points, just ahead of Rebecca Hamperian (Lexington, Ky.), who was fourth at 288.00. Sarah Bacon (Indianapolis, Ind.) rounded out the top five with 283.70 points.

“Platform is my favorite event – and my strongest,” said Hinrichs, who had top-five finishes on both springboard events earlier in the week. “It feels great.”

In all, 18 junior national titles were awarded throughout the week. The Woodlands Diving Academy was declared the overall team champion, with Woodlands divers winning nine national titles. The Trojan Dive Club finished second, and GC Diving and Team Orlando tied for third in the final team standings.
