USA Diving announces new membership categories with many reduced rates

USA Diving is excited to announce that it has implemented new membership categories for 2008, with reduced rates in a number of those categories. Look for links to take advantage of these new rates and categories on Wednesday, December 12.

Here is a breakdown of the various USA Diving membership categories:

Athlete Memberships

Competitive Gold Membership ($75): This membership category allows an athlete to participate in all USA Diving sanctioned meets including Jr. Region, Jr. Zone, Sr. Zones and Jr. and Sr. National Championships as well as all Association and invitational meets.(This category will generally be those athletes who formerly registered as Junior, Senior and Masters) (An athlete will also need to satisfy the eligibility requirements for a particular meet. Competitive Gold members age 21 or older may also compete in Masters competition).

Competitive Blue Membership ($20): This membership category allows the athlete to participate in association and invitational meets, including Future Champions meets. (An athlete will also need to satisfy the eligibility requirements for a particular meet). (This category will generally be those athletes who formerly registered as Future Champions or Novice, but may also include athletes who registered as Junior or Senior but who wish to limit the level of their competition.)

Limited Membership* ($12): This membership category allows for participation in camps, clinics, lessons, and closed leagues. (If a diver who is registered as a limited member wishes to compete in a USA Diving meet, the diver must upgrade the membership to Competitive Blue or Competitive Gold.)

* Following the 2007 Annual Meeting, the Board of Directors received information regarding insurance costs for 2008. A thorough review of this information was included in the Board’s deliberations regarding membership fees for the new membership categories of Competitive Blue and Competitive Gold. During the Board meeting held on December 5, 2007, the Board adopted, as a policy matter, to retain the Limited Athlete membership category. This decision was based upon the determination that USA Diving can offer that non-competitive membership for $12.00 for one year instead of requiring lesson and closed league divers to pay for the Competitive Blue membership.

Non-Athlete Memberships

Coach Membership ($125): Allows an individual to coach at all USA Diving scheduled practices and sanctioned events. (Please note coaches must be USA Diving safety certified and have current CPR and First Aid certification.) Coaches who register with USA Diving for 2008 will receive a FREE copy of the Future Champions DVD.

Club Membership ($125):  Provides liability insurance to your club and named facilities.

Non-Competitive Member ($50): Supporting USA Diving

Official Membership ($75): Covered by liability insurance (i.e. club board members, judges, table officials)

Note : An additional processing fee will be added to the membership fee.
