RULEBOOK

INTRODUCTION TO THE OFFICIAL TECHNICAL DIVING RULES
AND USA DIVING CODE ONLINE

The USA Diving Code is published electronically. The Technical Diving Rules will be printed and disseminated to the membership. In addition to the printed “Rulebook” containing the Technical Diving Rules, the rules are published electronically on the USA Diving website.

The Technical Diving Rules and the USA Diving Code presented here contain all amendments through the USA Diving Annual Meeting held in Anaheim, CA, in September 2007 and is a “clean” version. All amendments adopted by the General Assembly at the 2008 Annual Meeting in Atlanta, GA are contained in the Addendum.

Material enclosed in square brackets is not part of the official text, but provides information such as editor’s notes, cross-references and legislative history to enhance the use of these materials.

Variation between the electronic version of the Technical Diving Rules and the printed “Rulebook” are generally unintentional and, in most cases, the printed version should be considered the definitive text. However, the electronic version of the Technical Diving Rules will be updated to correct errors discovered subsequent to printing and may include editor's notes on interpretations issued by the Rules committee after the Rulebook is printed. When in doubt, please contact the Rules Committee Chair or Junior Rules Sub-Committee Chair as appropriate to resolve any questions or concerns.

The USA Diving Code will only be published electronically on the USA Diving web site at www.usadiving.org. As with the printed version, this material is copyrighted and may only be reprinted with the express written permission of USA Diving. The electronic version of the USA Diving Code is now the official version. Each Subpart of the Code contains a version date in the copyright notice at the bottom of each page. The version date is the last date upon which that Subpart was modified.

Questions regarding the USA Diving Code should be directed to the Chair of the Governance Committee.

Unless otherwise specified in the history notes, changes in the Technical Rules and the USA Diving Code adopted at the 2008 meeting take effect January 1, 2009.
