Foundation Coaches Performance Award Breakdown

The
total achievement award available per year is $25,000. Awards

of their divers at designated events, up to the amounts below:

$15,000 |
$10,000 |
$5,000 |

Example 1: At 2004 Olympic Games, U.S. wins 1 gold and 2 bronze
medals.
Reward: Gold - $15,000, Bronze - $5,000 (x 2) - $10,000.
Total Reward: $25,000
Example
2: At 2004 Olympic Games, U.S. wins 2 gold and 2 bronze medals:
Reward: Gold - 3 shares (x 2) - 6 shares, Bronze - 1 share
(x 2) - 2 shares
$25,000 divided by 8 shares - $3,125 each share
Total Reward: Gold - 3 shares at $3,125 per share, $9,375
x 2 = $18,750
Bronze - 1 share at $3,125 per share, $3,125 x 2 = $6,250
$18,750 + $6,250 = $25,000
In some
cases, a diver's performance in a major event is the bi-product
of more than one coach. This plan accounts for that realization
by distributing the award dollars to coaches of record during
the preceding four years on a month-by-month basis. Each coach
of record on the first of the month for the preceding 48 months
will receive 1/48 of the coach's performance award. A medal
in a synchronized event is considered to be one medal, hence
one award. If two coaches have divers on the medal winning
synchro team, they each will receive 1/2 of the award.
