Head Position During Takeoff on Backward Optionals


Watching the back end of the springboard throughout the takeoff on backward optional dives (water on reverses), causes the head to move down and forward. This is counter-productive to creating maximum rotation and inhibits full extension of the body for takeoff. The head should be in a neutral position between the arms at takeoff.
