Ron joined USD as the national technical director in 1991. An Olympic Team coach, Ron was at the helm of Ohio State University from 1962-1978, Mission Viejo from 1978-1985 and Mission Bay from 1985-1990. He was also employed by the International Swimming Hall of Fame from 1990-1996.

A true Buckeye, all of Ron's degrees come from Ohio State University. He earned his bachelor's in 1959, master's in 1961 and Ph.D. in 1967, all in physical education.

A former competitive diver, Ron was the 1959 NCAA Champion on 1-meter and the National AAU 3-meter Champion in 1961.

Ron and his wife, Mary Jane, are the parents of Anne and Tim.

Ron enjoys boating, golfing and biking.
