Besides diving she also enjoys the NFL, University of South Carolina Gamecocks Athletics, reading, singing karaoke and watching movies. Her favorite food is tacos.
While at South Carolina, she worked in the Perceptual Motor Development Laboratory and taught motor skills to developmentally delayed children. She would like to go to Physicians Assistant school in the summer of 2012. In November, 2009, she hyperextended her knee on a hop hurdle and suffered a tibia plateau fracture. Was not allowed to put any weight on it for 10 weeks and relearned to walk on an underwater treadmill. Cleared to do her first line-up in March, 2010 and was back in action at the 2010 AT&T Nationals. She did go back to a hop hurdle after the injury but has changed back to a walking hurdle. Typically she eats oatmeal, fruit and bacon before competition.
