Brittany is the daughter of Frank and Kathy Viola. Frank was the 1987 World Series MVP for the Minnesota Twins, the 1988 American League Cy Young Award winner and a three-time All-Star. Kathy is a horse breeder and trainer. Brittany has one brother, Frank, and one sister, Kaley.

Brittany enjoys reading, watching movies, cooking and dancing (all kinds, but especially likes salsa). She was a former international elite gymnast but retired at age 13 because she did not want to move to train away from her family. Brittany began diving in 2000, but missed the 2010 season while recovering from two foot surgeries.

  • Won NCAA titles on platform in 2008 and 2011 for the University of Miami to earn All-American honors
  • NCAA 2012 Top VIII award recipient
  • Swept the 2008 ACC Championships by winning titles on 1-meter, 3-meter and platform
  • Was named the 2007 ACC freshman of the year and was an NCAA All-American that season
