Deidre is the daughter of Will and Evelyn Freeman who coach track as well as cross country. Her father represented the U.S. internationally in pole vaulting and attended Olympic trials while her mother attended the Canadian Olympic trials.  Deidre has two siblings, Cameron and Nicolette, and began diving when she was fourteen-years-old. When she is not training, Deidre works as a dance instructor at Michelle’s Dance Academy. She trained with the Spanish National Team in 2009 when she spent a semester studying abroad in Madrid. In between dives, Deidre likes to stay warm by walking around and sometimes watching other divers. She is a vegetarian, has an extensive tea collection and is a total tree hugger.

  • Holds the 1-Meter, 3-Meter and 3-Meter (Synchro) records at the University of Iowa
  • First team and elite team All-State catcher on the Grinnell High School softball team in 2006
