Interviews
Most divers and coaches are available for interviews on a
daily basis when not at a competition. USA Diving does not
release home phone numbers without prior consent, however,
interviews can be arranged by contacting the USA Diving national
office. A mutually agreeable time will be set for an interview,
a coach's phone number will be given, or the athlete may release
his/her number. Collegiate divers may also be contacted through
the sports information office at their respective institutions.
EVENT SERVICES
Credentials
Credentials for USA Diving events can be arranged by calling
the USA Diving national office. A credential from your respective
outlet will allow admission to national championship events.
Media Days
USA Diving schedules a Media Day prior to some major competitions.
This is an informal interview opportunity. Several top divers
and coaches are available for one-on-one interviews during
this time, and diving practice is generally ongoing.
During Competition
Pre-event schedules and notes will be provided to supplement
this media guide. At the end of each event, final standings
and detailed results will be available as soon as possible.
Results are also available through the information outlets
mentioned earlier.
Athletes are typically available on the pool deck. Interview
requests should be directed to the on-site press officer.
Photography/TV
Flash photography, strobes and/or fixed camera lights are
strictly forbidden during diving competition. Photo areas
will be identified prior to the start of each event. In general,
still photographers and TV crews cannot film from directly
in front of or in the area behind the diving equipment.
USA Diving can supply headshots of athletes and coaches to
the media. |
