The Mile High Dive Club seeks an experienced coach with professional demeanor. Background in both dryland training and pool training required.  Candidates will be well versed working with all skill levels, ages, and learning styles.

Candidate works with the owner and club director to run effective skill based workouts for all multiple levels of diving.  Additional skills including but not limited to handspotting, belt spotting, water belt spotting, video analysis, platform training, and overall ability to manage children while keeping the mission statement of the club front of mind.

Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation – Diving Coach (Posted 10/22/14)

Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department is seeking qualified proposals for a USA Diving Coach at North County Aquatic Complex, a 50 meter facility located Jupiter, Florida.

Background: The Facility is located at 861 Toney Penna Drive, Jupiter, Florida. The Facility opened on December 18, 1992 and is a 50 meter X 25 yard X 25 meter pool with a dive well separated from the main pool by a bulkhead. The pool water is heated and chilled with Geo thermal heat pumps and is open to the public year round. The Facility is equipped with a Daktronics Omni Sport Console and 8 line scoreboard, as well as a dry pit dive training apparatus.

The Facility has had a competitive USA Diving program since 1994. Currently, approximately 40 participants are enrolled in the program. The successful proposer will be an independent contractor with the County. The payment to the contractor will be based on 80% of the fees collected for the program with no benefits offered. Based on the current program, it is estimated that the total payments for the first year will be between $40,000 and $45,000. The County provides the Facility and the coach works directly with the Pool Manager to schedule usage, insure that fees are paid and to resolve issues that may arise. There is an active Parent’s Organization that the coaches is expected to work closely with to raise funds, run meets and handle other items that benefit the program. The coach is responsible for running the program within the scope of work outlined in the Request for Proposals (RFP).

Background and experience coaching novice level through JO4 level divers
Strong organizational, teaching and communication skills
Ability to act professionally at all times

CPR/First Aid; Safety Training for Coaches.

Responsibilities: Assists the Head Diving Coach with personnel including hiring and supervision of staff, undergraduate/graduate assistants, and volunteers and their responsibilities, budgeting, scheduling, travel, meals, recruiting, coaching, scouting, purchase and care of equipment, giving appropriate direction to student-athletes as it relates to academics, while adhering to all ACC, NCAA, Athletics Department and University rules and regulations. Assists with establishing and implementing recruiting, academic, athletic, and community service policies for student-athletes. Assists with the swimming and diving summer camp. Maintains current skills and techniques in coaching, recruiting, training, and general management of a Division I-A intercollegiate sport program while adhering to Athletics Department, university, ACC, and NCAA rules and regulations.

Assists the Head Diving Coach in the direct supervision of all student-athletes that participate in the diving program. Provides leadership and instruction in a student-athlete’s personal and athletic development, to include counseling in academic, disciplinary, and personal matters, when appropriate. Assists the Head Diving Coach in supervising support staff to include paid, volunteer, undergraduate, and graduate assistants to ensure their compliance with applicable Athletics Department, University, ACC NCAA rules, policies and procedures. Provides training and guidance as appropriate.

Internal business contact for this position may include contact with sports information, facilities marketing, Seminole Boosters, game operations, academics, sports medicine, equipment, student services, and compliance staffs. Public contact for this position may include public speaking to various booster groups, alumni, university and community members, media, and recruits and their families.

Qualifications:  A Bachelor’s degree and one year coaching experience at the high school level or above. Successful experience as a graduate assistant or intern in an athletic program is acceptable for up to one year of experience. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Experience coaching swimming and diving. Experience at rope spotting over a trampoline.

University of Chicago — Diving Coach/Assistant Director of Aquatics (Posted 9/25/14)

Term:  Twelve-month, staff appointment.

Responsibilities:  Assist the Head Swimming & Diving Coach in all aspects of coaching and teaching for an NCAA Division III sport program. Teach and coach student athletes, recruit highly selective prospective students, develop and implement season training and workout plan, lead physical training (including dry land), organize and run diving practices, and assist in all facets of aquatics management.

Mission Viejo Nadadores — Assistant Coach, Director of Development (Posted 9/25/14)

The Mission Viejo Nadadores Dive Team seeks an experienced coach with 4-5 years of experience and extensive background in high-level competition for the position of Assistant Coach, Director of Development. Candidates must possess skills necessary to work with all age groups and skill levels, including novice, JO and Olympic caliber divers.

Candidate works with team directors to manage workouts and training plans for all levels of diving, including masters and high school programs. Other duties include mentoring assistant coaches, leading dryland workouts, dryland belt spotting and hand spotting for platform, evaluation of performance utilizing video analysis, and setting and maintaining individual goals and monitoring progression of each diver.

Candidate must maintain JO team standards and travel is required to regionals, zones and national meets.
