Grinnell College – Diving Coach / Lifeguard (Posted 5/19/15)

Grinnell College is currently seeking an energetic and motivated individual to work in our Bear Recreation and Athletic Center.

Responsibilities: Assist the Men’s and Women’s Swim Coach by coaching student-athlete divers in practice and in intercollegiate meets. Recruit student-athletes for the diving programs through direct mail, internet, phone calls and on campus visits. Head guard duties include assisting with in-service trainings, scheduling, and timecard management, being knowledgeable of the EAP, and filling in as a guard when needed.Staff other positions in the athletic department.

Qualifications: Must have NCAA diving and/or dive coaching experience at the college level. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Current lifeguard training/CPR/AED certification required.

Position: Up to 30 hours/wk, 9-months beginning August 2015. Salary range: $16,000

St. Lawrence University – Graduate Assistant (posted 5/13/15)

St. Lawrence University is currently seeking applicants for a Graduate Assistant Coach for Men’s and Women’s Diving. This 9-month, student position (August 15, 2015 – May 15, 2016) is targeted toward graduate students seeking a master’s degree. Remuneration includes a very competitive coaching stipend, student health insurance, and eligibility for tuition remission (6 graduate classes per year in the University’s graduate program), and some meals are also included. The Graduate programs available are Counseling and Human Development, Educational Leadership, and General Studies in Education.

Duties/Responsibilities
Responsibilities include formulating and implementing a seasonal plan with Head Coach approval for the St. Lawrence University divers; strength and conditioning responsibilities for the divers; scouting opposing schools divers and coaching the St. Lawrence University divers during meets; recruiting, and administrative tasks as assigned by the Head Coach.

Skills/Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree is required and collegiate diving and/or coaching experience is preferred. Valid driver’s license and ability to meet the requirements to drive a University vehicle.

Carolina Diving Academy –Junior Coach (posted 5/11/15)

Position will report to the Head Coach/ CDA program director and is responsible for managing and coaching junior level divers within the greater CDA program, including:

  • Parent communication
  • Registration/ roster management
  • Daily planning
  • Program promotion and retention
  • Assisting with the Elite and Senior teams as necessary

In addition, the position will be expected to contribute to various operations support activities including but not limited to:

  • Meet management
  • Program promotion
  • Records management
  • Program communications
  • Organizing volunteers

Required qualifications
Applicant must have strong organization and communication skills, including familiarity with MS outlook, word, excel, and graphics programs.
Three (3) years of experience coaching divers to the zone and national level.
Belt spotting on all diving apparatus.
Experience working and communicating effectively with large diverse groups of people.

Preferred Qualifications
B.A. recipients are given preference. Degrees in Kinesiology or related fields a plus.
Five or more years coaching all levels of divers.
Experience coaching and judging at national meets.
Current USA Diving and AAU certifications and memberships.

This is a salaried position with benefits. Total compensation will be commensurate with experience.

Olivet Nazarene University (Bourbonnais, Illinois) — Diving Coach Graduate Assistant (posted 5/1/15)

The Graduate Assistant position is a two-year commitment and will assist the Head Swimming Coach with the duties associated with the Men’s and Women’s intercollegiate diving programs. This includes coaching, recruiting, and administrative duties such as coordinating training, procuring equipment, dry-land and weight training supervision, recruiting, office hours and organizational skills, on deck coaching & competent computer and internet skills, such as Word and Excel, are required. We also seek to establish and maintain an environment in which a student-athlete’s athletic activities are conducted as an integral part of the student-athlete’s educational experience. The successful candidate will possess a passion for coaching diving, as well as assisting with day to day operations of the team, practice and meet preparation, meet duties, NAIA compliance, public relations, recruitment of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes, and a commitment to the student-athlete’s academic progress and degree completion.

Collegiate diving and/or coaching experience are preferred. This position provides a full graduate tuition waiver in either business administration or education and a $8,220.00 stipend each year.

Mission Viejo Nadadores — High Performance Director (posted 4/30/15)

The Mission Viejo Nadadores Dive Team began in 1977 and developed an unprecedented record of success. MVND has produced eight Olympians including Greg Louganis, Michele Mitchell, and Wendy Wyland and has won 48 National Championships, making it the only team ever to sweep all four World Championships in one year.

MVND currently seeks an experienced coach with extensive background in National and International competition for the High Performance Director position. Responsibilities include managing a JO and Olympic caliber team representing all groups and skill levels.

Candidate supervises the coaching staff to establish workouts and training plans for all diving levels. Requirements include mentoring assistant coaches, establishing dry land workouts, belt spotting, hand spotting for platform, performance evaluation utilizing video analysis, individual goal setting and progression of each diver.

Candidate manages team administration and communication, team meetings, parties, scheduling, season calendaring, maintenance and management of equipment and coordination of rosters and billing.

Requirements also include conducting annual parent meetings to communicate training expectations, philosophies and volunteer requirements. Attendance is expected at MVN Foundation, MVN Dive Committee and MV City meetings as well as marketing duties associated with representing a nationally recognized team.

Purdue University — Diving Technical and Administrative Coordinator (posted 4/22/15)

Responsible for providing comprehensive coverage of all operations of the Men and Women’s Diving program.

Responsibilities include management of the Dartfish video analysis system. Oversee and manage, with the aquatic staff, the administrative and technical aspects of all Diving events. Oversee, manage and organize recruiting database including video analysis of all incoming videos and logging of notes. Oversee the safety, maintenance and ordering of all diving equipment. Oversee the training and duties of student manager. Requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year video processing/editing experience or competitive diving experience at the collegiate level. Ability to communicate and adhere to University, Big Ten Conference and NCAA policies, procedures, rules ‎and regulations. Demonstrated competency on Dartfish video editing systems. Ability to stay abreast of new technology and techniques in regard to video, with sufficient fluency to train coaches, student-athletes, and new employees. A background check will be required for employment.

Mission Viejo Nadadores — Assistant Coach, Director of Development (posted 4/9/15)

The Mission Viejo Nadadores Dive Team seeks an experienced coach with 4-5 years of experience and extensive background in high-level competition for the position of Assistant Coach, Director of Development. Candidates must possess skills necessary to work with all age groups and skill levels, including novice, JO, and Olympic caliber divers. Candidate works with team Directors to manage workouts and training plans for all levels of diving including Masters and High School programs. Other duties include mentoring assistant coaches, leading dryland workouts, dryland belt spotting and hand spotting for platform, evaluation of performance utilizing video analysis, and setting and maintaining individual goals and monitoring progression of each diver. Candidate must maintain JO team standards and travel is required to Regionals, Zones and National meets.
