Purdue University — Diving Technical and Administrative Coordinator (posted 4/22/15) Responsible for providing comprehensive coverage of all operations of the Men and Women’s Diving program. Responsibilities include management of the Dartfish video analysis system. Oversee and manage, with the aquatic staff, the administrative and technical aspects of all Diving events. Oversee, manage and organize recruiting database including video analysis of all incoming videos and logging of notes. Oversee the safety, maintenance and ordering of all diving equipment. Oversee the training and duties of student manager. Requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year video processing/editing experience or competitive diving experience at the collegiate level. Ability to communicate and adhere to University, Big Ten Conference and NCAA policies, procedures, rules ‎and regulations. Demonstrated competency on Dartfish video editing systems. Ability to stay abreast of new technology and techniques in regard to video, with sufficient fluency to train coaches, student-athletes, and new employees. Candidates must possess skills necessary to work with all age groups and skill levels, including novice, JO, and Olympic caliber divers. Candidate works with team Directors to manage workouts and training plans for all levels of diving including Masters and High School programs. Other duties include mentoring assistant coaches, leading dryland workouts, dryland belt spotting and hand spotting for platform, evaluation of performance utilizing video analysis, and setting and maintaining individual goals and monitoring progression of each diver. Candidate must maintain JO team standards and travel is required to Regionals, Zones and National meets. We are offering two positions: 1). Summer only: June 21-Aug 6 –  $4000 (5 days per week) 2). Age Group Coach: Begins September 15, 2015 Coaching is 30-40 hours per week with a starting salary of $30,000 per year. Duties and Responsibilities: •         Assist in the development of athletes of all age groups and skill levels, including Novice and JO level divers •         Work with immediate supervisors in developing and administering training programs for the Novice levels, as well as being a back-up support for higher-level programs •         Administer coaching strategies and be a part in developing and implementing new coaching techniques •         Will be the first line of support to staff and will be offered extra hours as needed Position Requirements: •         Ability to maintain a professional attitude and actions, positive as well as an upbeat enthusiastic demeanor at all times •         Ability to teach and develop athletes of all age groups and skill levels •         Ability to belt and hand spot safely at all times. •         Ability to be flexible, organized, and maintain safety awareness at all times •         Must have good communication skills and be able to withstand pressure •         Coaching must be a top priority •         Ability to develop and implement workouts and training programs, including dryland, using video-analysis, setting goals and monitoring progress •         Ability to travel and assist at competitions and trips •         Have reliable transportation Required Experience: •         Coaching at the developmental (JO & Novice) level •         Strong organizational and time management skills •         Strong teaching and communication skills •         The ability to act professionally at all times •         Be computer-friendly and have the ability to learn computer programs and processes Experience/Certifications Needed: USA Diving Safety Training for Coaches CPR/First Aid Social media and networking Belt Spotting Contact us at: www.diveseattle.com.
