Santa Clara Diving Club – Lessons Coach/Director of Developmental Diving

Santa Clara Diving Club, located in Silicon Valley California, is accepting applications for Lessons Coach/Director of Developmental Diving.  The primary responsibilities for this position are directing, structuring and coordinating the lessons program, which feeds the club’s established Junior Olympic Program. Other responsibilities include maintaining/safety checking all equipment, website updates, and serving as meet director for home meets.

Our pool facility is outdoors and includes a separate diving well with three 1-meter and two 3-meter springboards, and a 10 meter platform.  We also have an indoor dryland training center with two trampolines, two dryboards, overhead spotting rigs, TiVo video feedback systems, and tumbling mats.

Compensation for this position is competitive.  Applicants are required to be USA Diving safety-certified and have current CPR and first aid certifications.

Longhorn Aquatics- Full Time Assistant Coach

Coach and develop the Junior Olympic, Intermediate, and lessons groups. Plan workouts, schedule, set diving goals and communicate with parents and athletes. Assist the Head Coach with establishing program goals by determining practice times, practice groups and requirements, coaching assignments, workout planning and implementation, seasonal planning, meet selection and team participating guidelines. Assist the Head Coach and Director with recruitment and retention activities for Longhorn Aquatics programs including developing and organizing program structure to support operations, communications and fundraising. Maintain communications with all Longhorn Aquatics staff and members, Texas Swimming Center Staff and other user groups. Assist the Head Coach and Director by attending all required meetings at the University, Facility, Local, State, Regional and National levels as official representative of Longhorn Aquatics. Assist Head Coach with the all training groups as assigned by Head Coach including site preparations, set-up and breakdown, driving to locations off of UT campus and attending swim meet competitions.

Required qualifications
Two (2) years of experience coaching age-group level divers or equivalent. USA Diving Safety Certification, USA Diving Membership, AAU Membership, First Aid Certification, CPR certification. Belt spotting on all diving apparatus (i.e. trampoline, dry-boards, platform). Experience working and communicating effectively with large diverse groups of people and high profile clientele. Demonstrated experience accepting and providing supervision. Equivalent relevant experience may be substituted as appropriate. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
Five or more years coaching age-group level divers. Experience coaching and judging at local, regional and national dive meets. Prepared workouts for each diver designed to accomplish individual goals. Prepared participant guidelines for all diving levels novice to senior/elite level. Conducted and supervised diving team events and participation in competitions. Experience working within a University environment.

Head Men’s and Women’s Diving Coach – United States Merchant Marine Academy (New York)

The United States Merchant Marine Academy, one of the five federal service academies and a member of NCAA Division Ill, is seeking applicants for Head Men’s  and Women’s Diving Coach. The duties include but not limited to assisting the head men’s and women’s swimming coach in all phases of the swimming and diving program (recruiting, coaching, student athlete retention),instructor of physical education courses, lifeguarding and any assigned collateral duties.  This is a full-time position. A bachelor’s degree is required with at least one year of coaching at the collegiate level; Master’s degree is preferred with additional years of coaching.  Must  possess lifeguarding credentials. Examples of such credentials may include;  CPR/AED Certification, USA Diving Safety Certification, and American Red Cross Lifesaving Certification. The minimum starting salary for this position is $52,182.
