All four U.S. divers competing Friday at the FINA World Junior Diving Championships advanced to the finals, including Murphy Bromberg (Bexley, Ohio), who was a late substitution in the girls group A platform contest due to an injury.

Bromberg wasn’t scheduled to compete platform but when Anna James (Midland, Texas) suffered a knee injury during morning practice, Bromberg filled in. She stepped up to the challenge and finished seventh with a score of 375.00. Teammate Jessica Parratto (Dover, N.H.) also made the finals and finished right behind Bromberg in eighth place with a score of 366.75.

Wu Shengping of China won the girls group A platform event with 483.00 points. She beat her second place teammate, Chen Yaqi, by more than 40 points. Australian Olympic silver medalist Brittany Broben came in third with a score of 430.20.

Both Grayson Campbell (Vienna, Va.) and Christopher Law (San Antonio, Texas) advanced to the boys group B 3-meter final. Campbell finished sixth with a score of 421.10, and Law was 12th with 402.95 points.

China swept the boys competition as well. Yan Hao finished first with a score of 516.75 and Li Pingan earned second place with 480.35 points. Joshua Kehagias of Australia received a bronze medal for his performance scoring 467.50 during the event final.

The final day of competition at the FINA World Junior Diving Championships is Saturday and includes girls group B 3-meter and boys group A platform.
