Junior Pan American Championships set for Tucson

The Junior Pan American Diving Championships are headed back to the United States.

USA Diving will partner with the University of Arizona and the Metropolitan Tucson Convention & Visitors Bureau to host the 2013 Championships, which are set for September 26-29 at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center on the UA campus.

Tucson is no stranger to international diving competition, having successfully hosted the FINA World Junior Diving Championships in 2010.

The Junior Pan American Diving Championships, held every other year, are returning to the U.S. for the first time since 2005, when the meet was held in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

The meet will feature approximately 10 countries and 150 divers, with competition conducted in four age groups: 11 & under, 12-13, 14-15 and 16-18 for both boys and girls.

Additionally, a FINA Diving Judges School will be held in conjunction with the event from September 25-27.
