Two Synchro Champions Crowned on Day Four of 2026 Nationals

MORGANTOWN, W.V. --  Jack Ryan (Stanford Diving) and Quinn Henninger (Johansen Diving Academy) won men's 3-meter synchro and Bayleigh Cranford (Longhorn Aquatics) and Ella Roselli (Johansen Diving Academy) won women's 10-meter synchro Monday at the 2026 USA Diving National Championships.   
 

It was the second gold medal of the meet for both Ryan and Cranford, who each won gold in their individual events on Friday. 
 
Ryan and Henninger scored 827.82 points on their two lists of 3-meter synchro dives to win their third national title together. Luke Sitz (Dallas Metroplex Diving) and Max Miller (Unattached) paired up for silver at 761.46, and Collier Dyer (Unattached) and Tanner Braunton (Unattached) took bronze at 692.67. 
 
Henninger and Ryan started strong on both their preliminary and final lists, scoring more than 100 points on their two voluntary dives in both lists, with Sitz and Miller also acheiving that mark in the preliminary. 
 
“(Scoring 100 points) really helps a lot, although it’s not as helpful when the team that goes after us is also doing 100 point vols. In the prelim, I knew that they were up there with us. Normally, the vols give you that edge, and we're trying to keep that consistent,” Ryan said. 

Although the two teams were nearly tied after their two voluntary dives in the prelim, Ryan and Henniger came through with more than 80 points on three of their four optionals -- including 85.50 points on their front 4 ½ tuck – in the prelims to head into the final with a 33.06-point lead. 

"(Voluntaries) are something Jack and I have been focusing on, so I'm glad it's starting to show in the competition setting," Henninger said. "I'm glad we had a strong prelim to give us a little bit of a gap going into the final. Just trying to stay consistent throughout was the plan." 
 
Ryan and Henninger’s list in the finals was highlighted by 84 points on a reverse 1 ½ with 3 ½ twists. Sitz and Miller closed out their preliminary list with 86.10 points on that same dive, good for the highest scoring dive by any team in either the prelims or finals.  
 
Roselli and Cranford scored 597.30 to pick up their second title together, with silver going to Sophie McAfee (Purdue Diving) and Kayleigh Clark (Unattached) at 534.78. 
 
Like Henninger and Ryan, Cranford and Roselli were pleased with the strong start to their two lists after placing an emphasis on their voluntary dives. 

"I think it's not so much about placement, but just being able to put together a good list. That’s what we were mainly focused on," Cranford said. "We've been working on our voluntaries, and we made a major improvement in those." 

They also scored 81.60 points on a back 2 ½ with 1 ½ twists in the prelim and added 74.88 points on an inward 3 ½ tuck in the final. 
 
"I was really proud of us. I think we put together a great list and finally put the pieces together. We’re staying consistent on our optionals, and our synchro is getting better as well. I’m really happy,” Roselli said.
