Junior Platform Girls Look to Continue Recent Success

The future looks bright for the U.S. girls on platform, and they’ll look to continue their recent success at the World Aquatics Junior Diving Championships in Croatia. 

Three of the women’s 10-meter finalists at this month's USA Diving National Championships were junior athletes – and all three are on the World Junior Championships team.  
 
Callie Fox led the way with a fourth-place finish, followed by Sophia Narbut in sixth and Lindyn Johnson in 11th.  

Evelyn Wang, Narbut and Johnson were all 10-meter finalists at the 2025 USA Diving Winter National Championships, and Fox was a finalist at the 2025 USA Diving National Championships. Wang made her senior international debut earlier this year and was a 10-meter finalist at the American Cup.  

“I think it's really cool. It’s a lot of my friends, and we just get to go out and do our best, which is really fun. We're all doing that together. I think it just shows the determination that we all have now, wanting to do our best and trying to achieve big things in the sport,” said Fox, a three-time junior national champion on platform. 

Fox and Narbut, both competing in their second World Junior Championships, will pair up in the synchronized platform event on Saturday in Croatia.  

"It's been really exciting. We have been practicing for a long time. I'm really proud of myself and my dives, and I hope I can continue to improve," Narbut said. 

Johnson and Wang, along with junior national platform champions Ella Guo and Sophia Hoffman, will dive in individual platform events in the first World Junior Championships for all four. The individual girls platform events will take place later next Wednesday and Friday.  
 
“I love the team aspect of worlds with everybody coming together. We all get super tight and close, and you make lifelong friendships there,” Fox said. "I love the sport. And it's always just so much fun. I think the last worlds will definitely help me with the experience.” 

Like her synchro partner, Narbut is ready not only to compete but once again soak in everything that comes with the unique experience that a World Junior Championships brings. 

"I love trading pins with other countries, so I bring packs of USA pins, and I trade them," Narbut said. "And I'm excited to see the city."
