2026 Junior Worlds Day Five: Kerim Advances to Another Final, Synchro Girls Place Fifth
Two individual events, two finals for Evan Kerim at the World Aquatics Junior Diving Championships.
Kerim advanced to the boys group A (16-18) 1-meter final on Tuesday and placed sixth with 442.95 points. He was also an individual finalist on 3-meter, finishing seventh in that event earlier in the Championships.
Mik Schwickert, also a finalist on 3-meter, represented the United States on 1-meter as well and placed 14th with 413.15 points.
Matvei Pomoshnikov of Russia scored 520.65 points for the 1-meter gold, with Finn Awe of Germany taking silver at 509.45. Canada’s Arnaud Corbeil claimed the bronze with 495.05 points.
Also on Tuesday, Kayla Jensen and Ava Jolley placed fifth in girls synchronized 3-meter. Jensen and Jolley scored 246.90 for fifth place, highlighted by 54.60 points on a back 2 ½ tuck. Mexico’s Mia Cueva and Lia Cueva took gold at 283.02. Viktoriia Kazantseva and Nadezhda Trifonova paired for silver with 258.63 points, and the Canadian team of Lila Stewart and Mackenzie Van Houtte Cachero won bronze with 256.92 points.
The World Aquatics Junior Diving Championships continue through Friday. Wednesday’s competition features two group B (14-15) events, with Nathan Piotrowski and Nash Salomon representing the U.S. in the boys 3-meter event and Ella Guo and Lindyn Johnson competing in the girls platform event.
