USA High Divers Win Two Medals at World Cup Stop in Italy
USA's Kaylea Arnett won the gold medal in women's 20-meter at a World Aquatics High Diving World Cup competition in Porto Flavia, Italy.
Kaylea Arnett won gold in women’s 20-meter high diving at the World Aquatics High Diving World Cup stop held July 11-12 in Porto Flavia, Italy. James Lichtenstein took the silver in men’s 27-meter high diving.
Arnett scored 329.95 points to edge Australia’s Xantheia Pennisi by 2.40 points for the 20-meter gold. Rhiannan Iffland, also of Australia, took bronze at 323.35.
Pennisi held a .35 lead over Arnett heading into the fourth and final round. Arnett came through with 96.35 points on a reverse triple pike somersault to overtake Pennisi and capture her first World Cup gold medal. She had previously won one silver and two bronze medals in World Cup competitions, including a bronze at the first 2026 stop in Fort Lauderdale in May.
USA’s Lisa Faulkner placed fourth with 309.60 points. Meili Carpenter took sixth at 291.25, and Izzi Mroz scored 258.55 to finish 12th.
Lichtenstein picked up the men's 27-meter silver medal after finishing with 421.40 points. Great Britain's Aidan Heslop took gold at 445.70, and Romania's Constantin Popovici scored 401.40 for bronze.
Lichtenstein held a 2.20-point advantage over Popovici for the second spot heading into the final round. The 2025 world champion closed out his list with 137.80 points on a back quintuple somersault tuck to maintain the silver medal position.
USA's Nate Jimerson finished 16th with 232.70 points.
