Juniors Earn Titles on First Day of Coastal Classic
Day 1 Competitors at the 2025 Coastal Classic
The inaugural Coastal Classic high diving competition kicked off in Fort Lauderdale on Friday, with five junior divers earning titles.
In the girls’ 17-19 event, Caitlyn Padgett (Unattached) claimed the first title with a score of 261.15. Leticia Aguilar Tovar (Mexico) followed with 194.95.
The boys’ 17-19 event saw a hometown winner with James Boardman of Ft. Lauderdale Diving Team scoring 313.60. Silver went to Connor Dreiling (Mile High Dive Club) with 184.70 points.
In an event of her own, Grace Yeomans (Mission Viejo Nadadores Dive) claimed the girls’ 14-16 title with 197.25 points.
Tanner Lange (YMCA Westside Silver Fins) captured the boys’ 14-16 title at 263.35, while Gael Rodriguez (Mexico) finished second with 217.05.
The 12-13 boys contest was the closest of the day, with Levi Berlyn (YMCA Westside Silver Fins) edging out Haskell Fagan (YMCA Westside Silver Fins) 221.35 to 208.45, respectively.
Competition continues Saturday with the qualifying rounds for the men’s and women’s high diving and intermediate high diving events.
