Insurance

USA Diving provides General Liability and Participant Accident insurance for the protection and benefit of its member clubs and individual athlete members in connection with USA Diving sanctioned competitions, registered club practices, or other approved events. USA Diving coach members should be familiar with and abide by the Safety Training Manual. 

• General Liability Insurance: USA Diving’s General Liability insurance program provides insurance coverage for liability imposed by law, up to the policy limit. The liability must stem from an occurrence which results in bodily injury to members of the public or damage to their property. The insurance company will provide defense even if the allegations of the suit are groundless, false or fraudulent. USA Diving member clubs, event organizers, event directors, officials, coaches, trainers, volunteers and individual athlete members are insureds under this program subject to very specific conditions. Many governmental entities including schools, cities/counties, parks and community centers require general liability insurance for events. • Sport Accident Insurance for Athletes: USA Diving’s Sport Accident insurance program provides excess medical coverage during sanctioned competitions or registered practices of a member club. USA Diving athlete members and member coaches who are injured while participating in sanctioned competitions or registered practices of a member club are eligible for this excess medical insurance coverage. Deductibles and other conditions apply. As excess insurance, this policy only pays claims after the injured party has filed and settled with any primary insurance policies. Primary insurance includes health insurance from an employer (or parent’s employer) or governmental program. This insurance not only provides valuable coverage to USA Diving members, but also serves as a valuable deterrent to lawsuits. If a member is injured during a practice or competition, please complete the sports accident insurance claim form. You should save the file and email the completed the form to usadiving@usadiving.org. Since this is secondary insurance, you must file a claim with your primary insurance first.
