Tokyo Olympics Rescheduled for July 2021

by USA Diving

The Tokyo Olympics, which were postponed due to the global coronavirus pandemic, will be held from July 23 to Aug. 8 in 2021, the games' organizing committee said Monday.

The 2020 Olympics had been scheduled to take place from July 24 to Aug. 9 in the Japanese capital but were postponed for the first time in history due to the ongoing spread of COVID19.

"We originally agreed to postpone the games to the summer of 2021 at the latest, but we wanted to hold them in the summer," Tokyo Games organizing committee President Yoshiro Mori told a press conference after agreeing on the new dates with the International Olympic Committee.

With the dates of the rescheduled Olympics now known, USA Diving will be working in conjunction with the USOPC and the Indiana Sports Corps to reschedule the Olympic Trials and get all pertinent information to our athletes, coaches and fans as soon as possible.
