U.S. wins 12 platform medals at Pan Am Masters

USA’s masters divers won 12 medals – nine gold, two silver and one bronze – in platform events to wrap up the Pan American Masters Championships in Medellin, Colombia.

Platform gold medalists for the men were Casey Pepe (50-54), Steven Figg (55-59), Gerry Dunn (60-64) and Kim Alderman (80+). Alvari Echeverri and Luis Bahamon won silver and bronze to join Dunn on the podium in the 60-64 age group.

Rebekkah Houser (40-44), Heather Carrano (45-59), Lisa Mitrani (55-59), Kelly Winterbottom (60-64) and Joan Chalkley (65-69) all won platform gold for the U.S. women. Elizabeth Dinello (40-44) picked up a silver.

The U.S. finished the three-day meet with 34 medals – 19 gold, six silver and two bronze. Sixteen divers – eight men and eight women – made the trip to Medellin to represent the United States.
