World Aquatics High Diving World Cup Set For Fort Lauderdale

by USA Diving

USA Diving is excited to announce that it will host the World Aquatics High Diving World Cup in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on May 26-27, 2023.

The World Aquatics High Diving World Cup will see the world’s best high divers compete in the newly renovated state-of-the-art Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Center. The venue, which boasts one of the highest diving platforms in the world, is a premier destination for global competitive diving, having hosted numerous international and domestic events since its opening in 1965.

World Aquatics approached USA Diving in February about the possibility of holding this event in Fort Lauderdale, and after much discussion, USA Diving stepped up to help make it happen.

“We are very proud to have the opportunity to host the world’s high diving stars in Fort Lauderdale,” said USA Diving President Lee Michaud. “I have no doubt the world-class facilities and breathtaking location will provide the perfect environment for the divers to perform at their best.”

“We’re excited to host this elite event in Broward County,” said Glen Allen, Vice President of Sports & Entertainment for Visit Lauderdale. “The Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Center is a world-class venue that just reopened after an extensive renovation, and this will be the first event to use the 27-meter-high dive platform.”

The World Aquatics High Diving World Cup, the first international high diving event since the inaugural Abu Dhabi Aquatics Festival 2021, will see men and women compete in the 27-meter and 20-meter events respectively. The event is open to all National Federations.

“We are thrilled to welcome the international diving community back to Fort Lauderdale. We are excited for the world’s best high divers to have the opportunity to experience our new facility, and we look forward to having this event in our city,” said Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis.
