Kwong/Verzyl, Hedberg/Tyler Win Synchro Gold on Final Day of Winter Nationals
Women's 3-meter synchro medalists: Gold, Sophie Verzyl/Anna Kwong; Silver, Lily Witte/Bailee Sturgill; Bronze, Emilie Moore/Molly Gray
The 2025 USA Diving Winter National Championships wrapped up Tuesday with Anna Kwong and Sophie Verzyl winning the women’s synchronized 3-meter title and Joshua Hedberg and Carson Tyler winning men’s synchronized 10-meter.
Hedberg and Tyler, who won bronze in 10-meter synchro at the World Aquatics Championships earlier this year, dominated the field with 827.02 points, including 82.14 on a front 4 ½ tuck in the finals. Jordan Rzepka and Tyler Wills scored 732.66 for silver, and Dash Glasberg and Max Weinrich took third at 672.49.
Kwong and Verzyl scored 559.14 points to win the 3-meter synchro title. They were second after the morning preliminary and took the lead in round three of the finals after scoring 68.40 points on a back 2 ½ pike and later added 75.48 points on a front 2 ½ with 2 twists. Bailee Sturgill and Lily Witte finished second with 528.12 points, and Emilie Moore and Molly Gray picked up the bronze medal with 497.64 points.
