2025 World Aquatics Championships Kick Off With First Two Rounds of High Diving

High diving at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore kicked off Thursday with rounds one and two of women’s 20-meter and men’s 27-meter competition.
James Lichtenstein was in third place after two dives to lead the U.S. squad, while all three U.S. women are in the top six after the first day of competition.
Kaylea Arnett leads the U.S. women after scoring 146.00 points on her first two dives. She’s in fourth place, just a tenth of a point behind Colombia’s Maria Paula Quintero. Maya Kelly tallied 137.50 points on her two dives for fifth place after two rounds, with Meili Carpenter in sixth at 130.65.
Lichtenstein scored 212.80 points on his first two dives, just 5.60 points back from leader Carlos Gimeno of Spain. USA’s David Colturi received 150 points on his two dives and is in 13th place, with Scott Lazeroff in 14th place at 142.60.
Rounds three and four for both the women and men are set for Friday (beginning at 11 p.m. ET on Thursday). The final two rounds of the women’s competition will take place Saturday (11 p.m. ET Friday), with the men’s competition set to wrap up Sunday (11 p.m. ET Saturday). The finals will be available on Peacock.
