USA Diving Announces Updates to 16-18 Age Group Dive Requirements

In 2021, all USA Diving Age Groups and Dive Requirements will remain the same as stated in the rule book for all diving events, with the exception of the 16-18 boys and girls. For this year only, FINA 19-year old’s will be added to the 16-18 group to form a FINA 16-19 age group at the Junior Regional/Zone/National sequence of events. All other age groups will remain the same. FINA 19-year-olds shall perform the standard USA Diving 16-18 (Grp A) list requirements per event and will be eligible to win/place in any contest.
Due to the 2020 Junior World Championships being postponed to 2021, FINA has decided to adjust the ages with Group A (17-19) and Group B (15-16). Therefore FINA 19-year-old divers are eligible to qualify for this event. Unfortunately, UANA did not change the age groups for 2021 so therefore for the Jr Pan Am Championships Groups A (16-18), B (14-15), C (12-13) and D (11&U) will remain the same. In an effort to accommodate both international and domestic events, USA Diving will keep the normal age groups and make the necessary adjustments through the selection procedures. The selection procedures are being developed and will be released as soon as possible.
