High Divers Set for World Aquatics Championships

Seven high divers will represent the United States at the World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, Japan. High Diving competition will run July 25-27, with the men diving from the 27-meter platform and the women competing from 20-meters.

Veterans David Colturi and Ellie Smart will lead the U.S. squad. Colturi will be competing in his fourth World Championships, having previously represented the United States in 2015, 2017 and 2017. Smart competed in the 2019 World Championships.

Matt Cooper and James Lichtenstein will also compete for the U.S. men. Meili Carpenter, Susanna Fish and Maria Smirnov round out the women’s team.

The U.S. team was selected based on results at the World Aquatics High Diving World Cup in Fort Lauderdale in May. Lichtenstein and Smart led the U.S. with a pair of fifth-place finishes.

All high diving events will be available to stream on the World Aquatics Recast Channel.
