All Six U.S. High Divers Advance to Finals at World Aquatics Championships

All six U.S. high divers have advanced to the finals at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore as preliminary competition wrapped up Friday with rounds three and four of women’s 20-meter and men’s 27-meter high diving.

The top 14 high divers in each event advanced.

Kaylea Arnett led the U.S. women with 322.25 points on her four dives to finish third in the preliminaries. Maya Kelly scored 286.90 for sixth, and Meili Carpenter was ninth at 271.45.

James Lichtenstein was the top U.S. finisher in the men’s preliminary, scoring 411.55 points on his four dives for third place. David Colturi was 10th with 355.30 points, and Scott Lazeroff placed 12th with 333.20 points.

Only scores from rounds one and three will carry over into the finals. High divers will perform two additional dives in the final.

The women’s 20-meter final is set for Saturday (11 p.m. ET Friday), with the men’s 27-meter final on Sunday (11 p.m. ET Saturday). Competition will be streamed live on Peacock.
